- WATER RETENTION – this is most common in women, salt can be the leading cause. Salt is very good for people with low blood pressure as it helps to increase it but make sure you are not over doing it. There is a HUGE difference between donated table salt which is fine and refined and then COARSE SEA SALT – this is what the body ACTUALLY NEEDS, so opt for the latter! Drink more water to stop your body boarding what it’s got.
- LACK OF MOVEMENT AND EXERCISE – physical movement is very important for the body to function, even organs and metabolism start to slow down if we forget about our faithful friend! Remember our body is our home and we need to “maintain” it , as if it were our house which constantly needs to be cleaned out and redone. So keep on doing the improvements, every small thing counts and try a DETOX! (There are many colon therapy places around too if you’re into that?) SCROLL DOWN for exercise tips!
- EMOTIONAL EATING, SNACKING AND OVER EATING – as women we tend to do this more at certain times of the month (men I am sure you do too), however we should not use this as an excuse, if you are eating late at night, in the kitchen alone, feel like you are always eating maybe it is time to ask yourself if you’re an emotional eater? Or eat because you’re bored, lonely, depressed, anxious? I know I do! Maybe it is time to start asking yourself “Is what I am doing to my body RIGHT NOW achieving my goals?”
- EATING FOODS HIGH IN CARB AND FAT – Yes the Low Carb High Fat (LCHF) diet is really big right now, consuming more than you’d body needs based on your BMI and other body calculations, could really be detrimental to your health, increasing blood sugar, cholesterol (CARBS also turn to fat in the body – so cut down to save your cholesterol levels), increasing your body fat percentage, leading to water retention tc. The health disadvantages are NUMEROUS, I cannot even name them all but start looking at NET CARBS and start carb counting to reduce risk of health issues and to decrease your weight!
- YOU HAVE AN ULCER – ulcers can occur in the stomach for a number of reasons including dehydration, high acid/PH levels, stress (causing the acid0, genetic predisposition, alcohol/drug usage, medications or it could be a symptom of an underlying issue. Please see your doctor and a gastroenterologist for a proper diagnosis if you have knowing pain in the stomach below the rib cage, back pain below the rips (the flank), constant aching hunger, bloating, pain before/after eating. DO consider natural remedies, the alkaline diet to neutralize your system, healthy lemon and cucumber water with a dash of mint,
- YOUR MEDICATION – some contraceptives and anti-depressants can really increase hunger/appetite and/or just help us pack on those pounds! Alternate, change it up or cold turkey! GO NATURAL, GO GREEN, IT’S CLEAN! A lot of pharma drugs have long term health disadvantages and cause other ailments!
- YOU WILL START YOUR DIET “TOMORROW” – this is no excuse for eating badly, eating the wrong things, not exercising etc – it is YOUR MIND FRAME, believing you CANNOT do it and will NEVER be slim, this negative attitude is contributing to your weight gain. Some scientists now believe that just thinking thoughts can CREATE YOUR OWN REALITY, if you dream about running your muscles actually start twitching so imagine how much they slow down if you think like a negative Nancy all day and criticize yourself, put yourself down ad convince yourself that there is no hope and what is the point in climbing the stairs today if it won’t make a difference tomorrow? Remember change is a slow process, require your brain and your neurons, challenge yourself, stay motivated by reading sh*t like this and JUST DO IT, every day counts.
- OTHER MEDICAL – worms (yes, a s gross as this is it could be a reality! Buy yourself a pill at your local pharmacy to be safe not sorry!) thyroid issues,
- GENETICS – this is tough one and is still in debate,
