Upcycling & Waste Project With Grade 3s #GreeningMinds

In June I went to St. Mary’s Primary School’s grade 3 class – who were naughty little angels! I showed them a presentation, I made, available here:

It aimed to educate them about the environment and waste, it explained how to recycle, what to recycle and then a DIY project – up-cycling is fun!

All was done with tins collected from restaurants who would normally throw this away with their usual trash and all stationery sponsored by Waltons, Back2School!

The children and I had such fun making pencil holders out of tins, taking selfies, learning new things! At the end of the day I was even asked for my autograph by several eager students! That day made me want to do a PGEC in order to teach foundation phase in schools one day – cannot wait to green more young minds!
